Clarksville, TN – Are you a college or high school student interested in the political system? Do you want to work directly with the mayor and city officials as a representative of the city’s youth? If so, the Mayor’s Youth Council is accepting applications until May 2, 2022.
The Youth Council provides Clarksville teens with an opportunity to gain greater knowledge and appreciation of the political system through interaction and leadership development.
Members will represent youth in the community and engage directly with the mayor and city officials throughout the program. In addition, they will work with City of Clarksville department heads, the Chamber of Commerce, civic clubs, and service organizations to provide service and leadership opportunities for city youth.
The Youth Council is accepting applications from Clarksville-Montgomery County Grade 11 and 12 students who have maintained a grade point average of 2.75 and above. Members meet monthly and serve a one-year term that coincides with the 2023 CMCSS academic year.
To apply to serve on the Mayor’s Youth Council, students must complete the following:

Obtain three reference letters. Include at least one from a teacher, guidance counselor or principal. The people providing these references must not be related to you.
