DUBAI, 31st January, 2022 (WAM) — The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) values the support of its Youth Council and its role in building bridges of communication with d other youth councils across the UAE, to further consolidate DEWA’s track record of excellence and UAE’s competitiveness in all areas.
Youth Councils also strengthen constructive communication between young employees and DEWA senior management to share their suggestions, views and innovations.
From October 2019 to the end of 2021, the DEWA Youth Council launched several initiatives and more than 10 communication platforms among young employees. It also organized more than 60 events, 20 awareness conferences, 4 educational trips and field visits. It has participated in international conferences and some of its members have participated in 2 national and international programs.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said DEWA adopts an integrated strategy to qualify young people to participate in different parts of national work. This stems from his realization that the young people of today are the leaders of tomorrow and the cornerstone of a better future for generations to come.
Al Tayer said DEWA’s youth human resources include 3,755 employees aged between 18 and 35, or 15% of the total workforce. The Council welcomes 39 different nationalities. In 2021, youth employee satisfaction with Council activities and initiatives reached 94%.
“At DEWA, we believe that the youth of the country is our renewable wealth that will continue the path of success to create the future. we strive to invest in the potential of young people and provide an interactive forum to empower and engage them to anticipate and shape the future and achieve sustainable development,” added Al Tayer.
