Glenafton Youth Academy: The new Cumnock team is growing

AN EXCITING new era for youth football is about to begin in New Cumnock with the establishment of a new Glenafton Youth Academy.

Current Glenafton Mini Minors teams will now officially report to Glenafton Athletic FC.

The club is now looking to form two more teams, for children born in 2014 and 2015.

A Glenafton Under-17 team will also join the new Glenafton Youth Academy, having previously been part of the Auchinleck Talbot Youth Academy.

New manager, Cammy Black, his coaching staff and many players have moved from Auchinleck to New Cumnock to join the newly formed academy, which is a major boost for the Glens.

The creation of the Youth Academy is a major step forward in the club’s ambition to create a thriving youth system for children of all ages, with a clear and well-supported football development path, and to make Loch Park an inclusive place for all. the community.

Glenafton are also delighted to announce that within this new youth organization, Cammy Black has been appointed as the new Youth Officer.

Although only 25, Cammy has over 10 years of experience coaching various age groups. He also holds a UEFA B license and was a former youth player with Glens.

After his appointment, Cammy said: “I have had very good discussions with the team over the last two months and it is clear that they have excellent short, medium and long term objectives for the club and the community. a set.
