Laois Comhairle na nÓg works with the support and facilitation of Youth Work Ireland Laois and Laois County Council.

Laois Comhairle Na nÓg Coordinator Niamh Kavanagh said, “Young members have worked so hard and come together to represent their peers, and they are so excited to showcase their discoveries and achievements at this year’s event.

The theme was mental health and exploring ways we can all take action to improve this in a positive and fun way.

Ms Kavanagh said: “Traditional mental health supports aren’t available or suitable for everyone, but we can all try to find ways to nurture our mental health within ourselves and in our community by getting active. and using the natural facilities that surround us here in Laois”.

The young people present at the meeting will have the opportunity to give their point of view on youth issues and to discuss them this year and to choose the subject among the issues that will be put forward again. Participants will learn how to get involved and/or become a member of Laois Comhairle na nÓg.
