Nenagh Éire Óg set to launch new gaeilc games youth academy

Nenagh Éire Óg Gaelic Games Youth Academy: We are very excited to announce that we will be launching the Nenagh Éire Óg Gaelic Games Youth Academy in March.

We are also very pleased to announce that local businesses Albany Home Décor Specialist and A Sportsman’s Dream will join us as proud sponsors of the new academy.

More details will be released over the next few days.

This is an extremely exciting project and we are delighted for all the children involved in the Nenagh Éire Óg Juvenile Club who will benefit immensely from the academy.

North Tipp Junior Hurler of the Year: Congratulations to Seanie Geaney on being selected as North Tipp Junior Hurler of the Year for 2021. Seanie had a great year in 2021 and played a major role in the club’s North Championship win Junior A. This is Seanie’s second North Tipp Player of the Year award after winning the minor award in 2011. He will receive his award at North Tipperary’s presentation night next Friday at Thatched Cottage.

Colleges Hurling: Kudos to Stevie Hallinan and Peter Folan who were part of the MTU Kerry team that won the Ryan Cup for Higher Education this weekend. Kudos also to Seán Phelan who was part of the UL team that won the Intermediate Higher Education Final last Sunday. Thumbs up to Philip Hickey who was part of the NUIG team that narrowly lost to UL in the Fitzgibbon Cup Final last Saturday.

North Board: Congratulations to Mike Ryan for his re-election to the North Board CCC last week.

Youth Club Fundraiser: The Nenagh Éire Óg Youth Club is holding a used clothing drive to raise funds for the upcoming 2022 season. curtains, towels, sheets or blankets, please bring them to the Nenagh Éire Óg resort next Friday evening February 25 from 6pm to 7pm or the following Saturday morning February 26. between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Youth Training Schedule
Under 7: Our U7 boys continue their 8 week block of fundamental movement games on the new Astroturf pitch. We would love to see new faces so all boys born in the years 2015/2016 are requested to come on Saturday mornings at 9am to the Nenagh Eire Òg GAA resort. No helmet or throwing required and it’s a great way for the boys to burn off some Saturday morning energy! For more information please contact Alan on 087-7518789.

Under 9: Continuing education on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. for all boys born in 2013 and 2014. New boys are always welcome. Contact the club’s social media sites with any questions.

Under 11s: Hurling training for under 11s takes place every Friday at 6:00 p.m. on the Astroturf.

Under 13: Training for this group continues on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Under 15: Training for this group on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.

Under 17s: Training for under 17s continues on Mondays at 6:50 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7:50 p.m.
