Nominations Accepted for Mayor’s Youth Council 2022-23

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Release) – Applications are now being accepted for the Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) 2022-23 for community-minded teens who want to learn more about city government, civic guardianship and community leadership.

Positions are open for high school youth in grades 9-12. Interested individuals must be currently attending school or home schooled and must reside in Cheyenne. The 2022-2023 term will begin in August 2022 and end in May 2023.

Selected youth will have the opportunity to actively participate in a variety of activities and programs, including building teams, working one-on-one with the mayor and other city officials, addressing issues affecting youth and the community, learning about city services and how they and city facility tours. As a general rule, two (2) meetings are held each month and the time devoted is estimated at four (4) to five (5) hours per month.

The Mayor’s Youth Council Selection Committee will review applications and interview selected candidates. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2022.

Applications are available online at and on the links above. An application can also be picked up from public high school career/counselor offices.

The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m.
