The National Youth Council strengthens its public relations strategy with a new partner agency


The National Youth Council (NYC) has appointed Burson Cohn and Wolfe to handle the public relations functions for one year with the option of extending for two more. BCW beat Ninemer Communications, Spurwing Communications and Manning Selvage and Lee Singapore to win the account, according to Gebiz.

The scope of the position covers strategic public relations consulting, crisis communication management, media monitoring and analysis, as well as media and stakeholder engagement. As part of the media and stakeholder engagement, BCW should host a networking session or media lunch for a closed group of media and New York representatives, Gebiz said. INTERACTIVE-MARKETING contacted NYC and BCW for comment.

NYC believes in a world where young people are respected and heard. It also seeks to empower them to influence and make a difference in the world. According to its website, NYC is working with partners to train future-ready youth who engage in Singapore by instilling in them a heart for service, resilience and an entrepreneurial spirit.

One such initiative was its partnership with * SCAPE and Tribal Worldwide Singapore in April this year, known as Campfire. Campfire aims to foster and facilitate opportunities for young people to develop creative resolution skills that will prepare them for the real world challenges of today. Rooted as part of Tribal Worldwide’s Total Experience, Campfire is an intensive six-week semester program specially designed for young people aged 18-35, to enable them to gain real-world experience and ignite their passion for entrepreneurship, design innovation, business, volunteerism and creative storytelling. To further refine the ideas of young people, Campfire has integrated Braintrust Advisors, a panel of local thought leaders and entrepreneurs with a penchant for giving back to the community and inspiring young people.
