Youth Congress protest against Kerala CM on planes; The CPI(M) calls it a terrorist act

Two young Congress workers, one of them wearing a black shirt, waved slogans against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inside the plane in which he traveled from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram after landing here on Monday, an act that LDF official EP Jayarajan called “terrorist activity”.

Jayarajan, who Congress said repelled the two protesters, likened what happened on the plane to the activities of terrorist groups.

The LDF organizer, speaking to reporters after the incident, said everyone was critical of the chief minister’s security arrangements, as Congress allegedly walked around with “such terrorists”.

He further said that it is unfortunate that a chief minister of a state cannot travel in peace on an airplane and that such a situation has arisen allegedly because of Congress.

State Deputy Chairman of the Youth Congress and former MP KS Sabarinathan posted a three-second video on social media in which the two workers of the organization were seen waving slogans against the Chief Minister demanding his resignation and a man who accompanied Vijayan then pushed them away. .

In the video, as the duo fell, they could be heard asking if people weren’t allowed to protest.

In a Facebook post, Sabarinathan alleged that it was CPI(M) leader and LDF official Jayarajan who pushed the Youth Congress protesters.

Jayarajan, on the other hand, claimed that the duo, who sat at the front of the plane, were drunk, could not speak properly and walked towards the chief minister after the plane landed and everyone was getting ready to disembark.

He said the public, including those who support Congress and the UDF, should condemn and oppose such actions which could lead to lawlessness in the state and disrupt the peace here.

He told reporters that further action must be taken against the two protesters by the airline or the DGCA, whether or not a complaint is filed by the Left Front.

Meanwhile, an officer from Valiyathura Police Station said no action has been taken against the duo so far as they are awaiting a report from the airline regarding the incident.

Currently, the duo are believed to be in the custody of airport security.

The protesters, posing as passengers, reportedly boarded the flight at Kannur airport.

Vijayan has been facing protests from Congress and BJP workers since key defendant in the gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh, claimed he and his family members played a role in certain activities of smuggling.
