Youth council calls for peaceful coexistence in Nasarawa

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has called for peaceful co-existence among the citizens of Nasarawa.

The board urged them to exercise caution in their rhetoric and public engagement.

NYCN Chairman Comrade Ja’afar Loko made the call on Wednesday, in a statement released at the end of a week of activities marking International Youth Day 2022 in Lafia, the state capital. from Nasarawa.

Loko said the week-long event was organized to mark the day and draw the attention of policymakers and the general public to issues affecting young people in the state and beyond.

“We call on the government; religious, social and corporate organizations to take action to address the challenges faced by young people to enable them to live better lives.

He said the council decided to form a public-traditional security intelligence gathering committee in local communities to help articulate vital information capable of verifying insecurity in the state.

Loko appreciated the remarkable contributions of the administration led by Governor Abdullahi Sule to the advancement and welfare of the youth of the state in the area of ​​appointments, job creation, skills acquisition and general well-being.

He therefore called on the youths of the state to channel their energies towards ensuring a violence-free election in the general election of 2023.

The President also called on members of the public to elect tested and trusted leaders who are beyond deception and sentiment for the betterment of the state and Nigeria as a whole.
