A youth organization is about to reopen its two cafes in West Cornwall.
Youth Cafes Cornwall CIC is reopening its Hideaway 77 cafe at Redruth and Furry in Helston, Cornwall, so that young people can come together again in a safe environment.
Cafes were forced to close during the pandemic, but will officially reopen on October 15.
The reopening will be marked by games, snacks, music and even mountains of hot chocolate.
Youth cafes will be open two evenings per week in each city before Christmas and will expand to three evenings per week for the New Year.
New this year will be a new Supper Club which will be held in Redruth, Cornwall, every Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and every Thursday in Helston from 5 to 7 p.m.
Charlotte Caldwell, Founding Director, said: “We are very excited to present the weekly Supper Clubs, which will help inspire young people to cook together, prepare meals for each other and learn from the guest chefs who will be visiting the Supper. Clubs.
“We will encourage young people to learn how to prepare nutritious meals on a budget, to plan their meals, to turn everyday basics into wonderful snacks and at the end of each session program we will take the young people to a local for dinner. . restaurant. We are very grateful to the Tweed Family Charitable Foundation for funding this aspect of our work. “
Kate Sidwell of Young People Cornwall, whose team provides professional animators in youth cafes, added: “Our trained and experienced animators will provide exciting activities for young people in Helston and Redruth through youth clubs at Hideaway 77. and the Furry Youth Café.
